Chris Geraghty departs for R2

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the transfer of one of our esteemed firefighters to the tool box down the street, Rescue 2. While we are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and the new opportunities that await him, we can’t help but feel a pang of sadness as we bid farewell to a cherished member of our firehouse family.

Recognizing His Contributions

Throughout his time at Watkins Street, Chris Geraghty has exemplified the very best of what it means to be a part of Engine 231 (for 3 weeks) and Tower Ladder 120 (for 9.7 years, so close to a gold pin). His dedication, bravery, and commitment to upholding our traditions have set a high standard for all of us. He has been a mentor, a teacher, and a friend, always ready with a helpful tip or a word of encouragement.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Chris, thank you for everything you have taught us and for your unwavering commitment to our firehouse. Your legacy of excellence and dedication to duty will continue to inspire us all. While we will miss your leadership and camaraderie, we are excited to see you excel in your new role and continue to make a difference in the FDNY.

We have no doubt that he will bring the same level of passion and professionalism to his new team and will show them how to make friends and cook meals.
